I’ve recently taken Instagram off my phone as I found I was spending far too much time on the bloody thing. The best phrase I heard about social media recently was how it is “colonising human attention” . I most definitely concur! It’s actually been a bit of a relief without it and I found I have been reading much more. I’ve had a couple of mad real life weeks , so hopefully I can get back to a bit more drawing!!

I digitally coloured this drawing in Affinity Photo and really loving the process. I just don’t think I can fully commit to wholly digital as I like the physicality of pen on paper. However, the way the colours can pop digitally really enhances the inkwork. I cut out the original drawing and stuck it on a printout of half tone texture. Duotone is spectacularly expensive and difficult to get in the UK, so I thought I would try a rougher method. It seems to have worked out ok!

Anyway, more things to do. Christmas is slowly creeping upon us like a terrifying beast. Hopefully get some time to draw some monsters!
